No surprise to me, Yohji Yamamoto was my favorite of the Spring 2015 runways. I wanted to draw and wear the entire collection.
The finale look was a particular favorite. I made up a romantic story in my head, where a young bride is dressed for her wedding in a post apocalyptic world.

It was fantastic being interviewed for Nu-Mode Magazine's latest 'Noir Blanc' issue! The feature 'Tales of Grimm' is a look into my working habits and what keeps me going. Read the online edition here! *hint: I'm on page 220* Or get your own gorgeously printed copy here in soft or hardcover. Thank you Nu-Mode!

From Fall 2010 Yohji Yamamoto. Few other designers produce something that reflects my stance as a woman, an artist, and a designer on a consistent basis. I could sketch each look from each collection if I had the time, this is one of many favorites.

This is the process I generally take for fully rendered illustrations, specifically those that require a print or certain knit. Start with a quick sketch for pose, then a clean drawing and shading. If I feel something is missing, I sketch it separately, then add it in photoshop.

working on a new personal collection inspired by David Slijper editorials in Vogue Japan-starting with 'preliminary minis' then I cut them out to sort them into a balanced lineup

I've finally packed up and made the move to the east coast. But before leaving, I took on the tremendous task of selling, donating, or recycling nearly everything I own. It's no surprise that the few items I kept were work related. The purge was liberating, a call to a completely new beginning.

Going through patterns, fabric, and old sketchbooks was the most difficult part. It feels great to be left with only necessity and new projects. Now the challenge is to find an equally creative space.
